How I got here: Dan and I moved our family from Raleigh, NC to Lilburn in 1984. Everytime we returned to our parents' homes in Graham, NC, we would cross Lake Hartwell on I-85 and remark "One day, we are going to live on that lake." In 1999 we returned to NC for Dan's work, taking our youngest daughter with us. We bought our lake house on Hartwell in 2005 as a second home, coming to it as often as we could. In 2007, we tired of working, and of the drive south. We sold our house in NC, got rid of half our possessions, took early retirement and moved to the lake.
I've been hiking with the group since November 2007, invited by the Bellamys, fellow church members.
