Close to a thousand of Ernie Haase's best friends and E-Team members joined Ernie for lunch at the Galt House Ballroom on September 14, 2002. This day had special significance as Ernie and his friend Garry Jones introduced the members of The Signature Sound Quartet. The luncheon was once again a major highlight for Donna and myself during the week of the NQC in Louisville. The luncheon started off with background piano music by Jason Kelly followed by a few words and blessing from Ernie's mom and dad. The Dove Brothers sang several songs and brought the house down as usual! Then, it was announced that George Younce was not doing well, but that George had arranged for his replacement to be a big surprise and then ELVIS was introduced and Ernie came out all decked out in Elvis attire with as good an impersonation as you will see anywhere. Next, we were entertained by a dynamic young barber shop quartet from Cleveland, TN named Four Voices. They were named the top barber shop quartet in the country at a recent competition. They were great! Then Ernie came out and sang some off of his new Christmas album with Garry at the keyboard. Next, it was time for the big announcement! Ernie gave the name for the new quartet that he and Co-founder Garry Jones have formed.....The Signature Sound Quartet! Each member was brought out and introduced to the luncheon crowd. Doug Anderson - Baritone, Shane Dunlap - Lead, Tim Duncan - Bass and of course Co-founders Ernie Haase - Tenor and Garry Jones - Piano and Producer for the group. Then the crowd enjoyed the first public performance of The Signature Sound Quartet! It was simply a fantastic luncheon with Ernie again this year. If it gets any bigger, we don't know what Ernie is going to do! Here are our Pictures. (scroll down) |
